The Mayor of Isuikwuato Local Government Area and Chairman of the Abia State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Chinedu Ekeke, has lauded the elevation of Barr. Ikechukwu Uwanna to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), describing it as a monumental achievement for the legal community in Abia State.

In a press statement issued by Chimaobi Ben Okorie, Special Assistant on Media and Communications to the Mayor, Ekeke praised the Abia State Attorney General for reaching a career milestone that underscores “dedication, legal brilliance, and unrelenting service to justice.”

“Uwanna’s elevation to SAN is not just a personal triumph but a collective badge of honor for Isuikwuato, Abia State, and the Nigerian legal system,” Ekeke remarked.

He further expressed optimism that the achievement would serve as a beacon of inspiration for emerging legal professionals across the state and prayed for continued excellence in Uwanna’s career.

In a separate development, Mayor Ekeke reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the Nutrition 774 (N-774) initiative, a federal government-backed campaign designed to address nutritional challenges at the grassroots.

The programme, officially flagged off in Abia State, is part of a national rollout aimed at tracking malnutrition indicators and implementing community-based nutrition interventions across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.

This dual development underlines both the intellectual and social evolution currently taking place in Abia State. The legal recognition of Attorney General Uwanna as SAN shines a spotlight on excellence within the judiciary, while the grassroots embrace of the N-774 initiative reflects a growing commitment to health equity and sustainable development. 

Speaking during the launch, which was attended by Governor Alex Otti, top state officials, healthcare professionals, and traditional leaders, Mayor Ekeke assured stakeholders of full cooperation from the grassroots level.

“We will not sit on the sidelines,” he said. “Our local government teams are ready to roll up their sleeves and ensure that the narrative on community nutrition is swiftly and sustainably changed.”

The N-774 team, led by Dr. Rochas Anwukah, commended the enthusiasm of local leaders, stressing the critical role LGAs play in implementing nutritional policies that directly impact vulnerable populations, particularly children and mothers.
