Mrs. Victoria Dibunma Onwubiko, has applauded the Abia State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) for their pivotal role in shaping public discourse and promoting good governance through responsible communication.
During a courtesy visit by the NIPR State Executive to her office, Mrs. Onwubiko commended the institute for fostering a professional bridge between the government and the people. She emphasized the critical importance of ethical public relations practices in driving innovation, peacebuilding, and youth empowerment across the state.
“You are not just image makers, but nation builders,” she said. “Through your work, you can position Abia as a hub for investment, tourism, and global recognition.”
She expressed her appreciation for the visit and pledged ABSSAA’s commitment to a sustainable partnership with the NIPR, which she said would amplify the agency’s development-oriented agenda.
The NIPR Chairman, Mr. Olunkwa Felix, in his address, lauded the ABSSAA boss for “redefining the visual aesthetics” of Abia State through strategic urban branding initiatives. He noted that under Mrs. Onwubiko’s leadership, the state has experienced a significant transformation in its public signage and visual identity.
Mr. Olunkwa stated that the visit aimed to strengthen ties with the agency and extend an invitation to Mrs. Onwubiko to attend the institute’s forthcoming Annual General Meeting. He also sought ABSSAA’s collaboration in achieving the institute’s strategic objectives.
Adding to the commendations, ABSSAA’s Head of Strategy and Innovation, Mr. Ndubuisi Nwogwugwu, described Mrs. Onwubiko’s leadership as transformative. “Her appointment is one of the best decisions for this agency. Her forward-thinking policies have ushered in innovation and professionalism,” he remarked.
This engagement highlights a growing synergy between key public institutions in Abia State, reflecting a broader commitment to professional ethics, effective governance communication, and image enhancement. As Abia positions itself as a destination for tourism and investment, strategic partnerships like this will be crucial in projecting a unified and progressive narrative for the state.
In a brief speech, Vice Chairman of NIPR Abia chapter and veteran broadcaster, Comrade Adaeze Iroegbu, acknowledged the ABSSAA team and thanked the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, for supporting initiatives that are reshaping the state’s image.
