Enough Is Enough: Anyaso Calls for Urgent Action Over Benue Killings.

From TCNEWS

Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, an Abia-born philanthropist, businessman, and political figure, has issued a passionate plea to the Nigerian government and security forces to end what he described as the “senseless killings” of innocent civilians in Benue State, North Central Nigeria.

In a press release titled “Enough Is Enough”, made available to journalists this week, Dr. Anyaso decried the wave of violence that has claimed dozens of lives in recent months across communities in Benue. He described the ongoing attacks not merely as statistics, but as “human lives, families, dreams, and futures being brutally cut short.”

“My heart goes out to the people of Benue, who have suffered immeasurably in recent times,” said Anyaso. “This cycle of violence must end. No community in Nigeria deserves to live in constant fear, and no government can afford to treat such tragedies with silence or delay.”

Calling the situation both a national tragedy and a moral failure, Dr. Anyaso urged the Federal Government, security agencies, and all relevant authorities to take “immediate and decisive action”—not only to bring perpetrators to justice but to implement long-term preventive measures to restore peace in the region.

This is not just a local security issue, it reflects deeper national concerns about the government’s ability to protect its citizens, the erosion of rural safety, and the slow response to humanitarian crises.

He also appealed to citizens and civil society to unite behind the people of Benue through solidarity, prayer, and advocacy, using hashtags such as #PrayForBenue#JusticeForBenue, and #SecureNigeria to amplify awareness and demand action.

“We cannot continue like this,” Anyaso emphasized. “Nigeria must rise to protect her people. I stand with Benue. May those we have lost rest in peace, and may justice not be delayed.”

Anyaso’s remarks add to growing calls from rights groups and citizens demanding a more robust security response and lasting peace-building strategies in the affected areas.

With voices like Anyaso’s joining the call, pressure is mounting on authorities to finally break the cycle of violence and restore dignity to affected communities.

Benue State has been the epicenter of repeated violent attacks in recent years, often linked to long-standing clashes between herders and farming communities. Despite multiple promises by government and security forces, the killings have continued, sparking national outrage and international concern.
