In a significant display of support, Sir Ekele Ochiabuto, the Signature Bank Manager,  Umuahia branch has joined the well meaning citizens to commemorate the two-year anniversary of Governor Alex Otti’s administration in Abia State, highlighting the transformative strides made across key sectors.

Branch Manager Sir Ekele Ochiabuto, a Knight of the Catholic Church and a Rotarian, lauded the governor’s leadership and emphasized the positive changes witnessed across the state.

Interacting with our correspondent via Whatsapp, Ekele said that Governor Otti’s administration has prioritized infrastructure, with notable projects such as the 1.3-kilometer Dozie Way in Umuahia. This road was reconstructed through direct labour at a cost of N750 million, significantly lower than the N2.2 billion quoted by external contractors. Additionally, the 11.1-kilometer Obehie–Umudobia–Owaza Road in Ukwa West Local Government Area and the Orpet-Umuafai-Lodu-Ahiaeke-Okwuta-Bende road (about 8.11km road), which  cuts across his Okwuta Ibeku community is set to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic activity in the region.

According to him, under Governor Otti’s leadership, Abia State has witnessed a surge in industrial activities, including the establishment of a modular refinery in the Abia Industrial and Innovative Park, aimed at boosting local production and employment.

In agriculture, Ekele said that initiatives such as the Agricultural Support Scheme have led to a 25% increase in maize production, enhancing food security and improving farmers’ livelihoods.

According to him, the administration of Governor. Otti has demonstrated fiscal responsibility by executing projects at reduced costs. For example, the Nnamdi Azikiwe State Secretariat was refurbished for N900 million, saving the state N1.1 billion compared to the initial N2 billion estimate, the Abia State Corporative support scheme where Gov. Otti gave interest free loan of N100,00 to over 10,000 artisans across the state. These measures reflect a strong commitment to efficient governance and resource management.

Sir Ekele Ochiabuto noted that Governor Otti’s policies align with the principles of Rotary International’s Four-Way Test, which emphasizes truth, fairness, goodwill, and beneficial relationships. This alignment underscores the administration’s dedication to ethical governance and community development.

His words, “As Governor Otti approaches the third year of his tenure, the administration remains focused on sustaining momentum in infrastructure, economic growth, and governance. With continued support from institutions like Signature Bank and alignment with community values, Abia State is poised for further growth and prosperity”.
