The Imo State chapter of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has called on citizens to join a new political movement it says is committed to justice, transparency, and inclusive leadership. In a statement released by the party’s State Secretary, Rt. Hon. Michael Anyanwu, the YPP urged residents to embrace a forward-thinking approach to governance and political participation.
With Nigeria’s political landscape grappling with growing public dissatisfaction over governance and leadership challenges, the YPP is positioning itself as a credible alternative. “YPP is not just a political party, it is a movement for Imo’s redemption,” said Anyanwu. “We are committed to building an egalitarian society founded on social democracy, integrity, and people-centered governance.”
The party highlighted its commitment to empowering young leaders across all sectors, promoting justice, accountability, and equitable development, ensuring all voices, regardless of status, are heard and valued and driving progress through innovation and practical solutions.
The YPP is also positioning itself as a grassroots movement with a clear focus on the long-term future of Imo State, beyond short-term political victories. “Our aim is not just to win elections but to secure a prosperous future for Ndi Imo,” the statement noted.
