YPP Unveils 23-Member Executive Committee to Bolster Party Structure in Imo State.

From TCNEWS

In a strategic move to solidify its presence in Imo State, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) on Friday unveiled a 23-member State Working Committee (SWC) during an extraordinary party meeting, signaling renewed efforts to strengthen its grassroots network and political coordination ahead of future elections.

The announcement, which followed formal ratification by the party’s National Working Committee, showcased a blend of experienced politicians, grassroots mobilizers and youth representatives tasked with driving the party’s agenda across the state’s three senatorial zones — Owerri, Okigwe and Orlu.

This development marks a turning point for the YPP in Imo State, as it seeks to deepen its influence and contest more competitively in future elections. By assembling a diverse and strategically selected executive team, the party is laying the groundwork for institutional growth, political engagement and youth-driven governance in the region.

Key officers of the newly constituted State Working Committee include:
Greg Okemili, State Chairman
Chief Golden Odoemena, State Deputy Chairman
Rt Hon Michael Anyanwu, State Secretary
Hon Lady Grace Nnawuchi, State Woman Leader

Mr Vitus Obiekwe, State Organizing Secretary

Other executive members are:
Chief Desmond Obi, Deputy State Secretary

Mr Nnamdi Iheagwaram, State Financial Secretary
Chief Coleman Mbalusike, State Publicity Secretary

Hon Donatus Obi, Okigwe Zonal Chairman
Chief Anayo Olemgbe, Orlu Zonal Chairman
Prince Nwakwere, Leader of Persons with Disabilities
Mr Ozurumba Ikechukwu, State Sports Adviser
Hon Kingsley Nwahiri, Ex Officio

During the meeting, State Chairman Greg Okemili emphasized the importance of inclusive leadership and robust grassroots mobilization, stating that the new executive reflects the party’s diversity and commitment to democratic development.

“We are building a party structure that mirrors the hopes and aspirations of the people of Imo State,” Okemili noted, urging the newly inaugurated members to champion the values of transparency, equity and accountability in all engagements.

According to party insiders, the SWC’s mandate includes policy advocacy, voter education, community outreach and preparations for the upcoming local government and state elections.

Political observers believe the move represents a calculated effort by the YPP to reposition itself as a formidable alternative in Imo’s evolving political landscape, dominated by legacy parties.
