In a vibrant celebration marked by tradition, academic excellence, and futuristic vision, Jofavour International Academy formerly known as Wisdom Academy held its 2025 graduation and sendforth ceremony at its campus in Umuagu Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State.

The event, held on Sunday , August 3, 2025 featured an impressive array of activities including cultural displays, drama, Igbo-language news reporting, calisthenics, candle-lighting, and an inspiring welcome speech by a nursery pupil, underscoring the school’s commitment to holistic education.

Delivering the keynote, Rev. Dr. Blessed Uche Amalambu, Director of the Academy, made a passionate appeal for support towards a ₦5 million development drive. The campaign aims to upgrade the school’s science and technology infrastructure, including the procurement of four new computer systems, full science laboratory equipment, and a standby generator.

“We are committed to preparing our children not just for national relevance but to make them globally competitive,” Rev. Amalambu declared.

“Education today must go beyond the chalkboard. We need ICT-driven, science-backed, and values-based learning. That is the vision we are pursuing.”

Rev. Amalambu urged parents, philanthropists, and public-spirited individuals to support the school’s transformation agenda, emphasizing the long-term benefits for families, communities, and the nation at large. He reiterated the school’s ethos of merging spiritual discipline with academic excellence, noting that many pupils experience a dramatic transformation in both academic performance and character.

“Our success stories are numerous. No child leaves here the same way they came. We instill both divine wisdom and academic confidence, that is our strength,” he added.

The director also emphasized the need for a collaborative approach to education, calling on parents to be ambassadors of the school and active stakeholders in their children’s learning journey.

The school’s micro-teaching model, which promotes close academic interaction between teachers and pupils, was widely praised for its effectiveness. Rev. Amalambu reassured parents of the competence and professionalism of the teaching staff, noting that the small student population enables personalized, high-impact learning.

“The training of a child is a shared responsibility. Parents must see this as an investment that will bear fruit in the future.”

Mr. Chidozie Ukachi, Chairman of the occasion and a parent of the school’s alumni, described Jofavour International Academy as “a divine blessing to every child who walks through its gates.” He applauded the institution’s impact on his family and commended its dedication to excellence.

The ceremony also served as a clarion call to revitalize education systems across Nigeria and Africa, especially in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), in line with global educational trends. As the world advances into the Fourth Industrial Revolution, he emphasized that schools must adopt AI, coding, robotics, and modern laboratory work to ensure no child is left behind.

Welcoming the audience with remarkable eloquence, Master Armstrong Ndubuisi, a Nursery Three pupil, declared:

“We are better than when we came in. This school nurtured us mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually. We are champions today because of the values and knowledge we received.”

His confidence drew thunderous applause, symbolizing the transformation Jofavour Academy fosters in its learners.

Delivering the valedictory address on behalf of the graduating class, Miss Chinemerem Gift Ahamefula described the day as a “memorable occasion” marking the end of one academic phase and the beginning of another.

“Our graduation today is the first in a series of accomplishments that we will surely achieve with the guidance of God, our parents, and those around us,” she said, reflecting on her five-year journey at the institution.

Quoting Filipino national hero José Rizal, she reminded the audience that “the youth is the hope of the motherhood”, an adaptation of the famous quote highlighting the school’s role in shaping future-ready, responsible citizens.

Chinemerem expressed deep appreciation for the school’s faculty and leadership, giving special recognition to her class teacher Mrs. Kelechi Blessing, the proprietress Mrs. Mercy Amalambu, and dedicated staff members such as Mrs. Akaose for their unwavering mentorship.

“Our accomplishments in this school are very rewarding,” she stated.

“The patience and dedication each of us has shown throughout our years here are what made us heroes and heroines—just like José Rizal.”

She also lauded parents for their sacrifices, pledging that while the graduates may not yet offer material gifts, they would continue to bring joy, happiness, and respect to their families.

The emotional ceremony climaxed with a message of hope and unity from the graduating class:

“My dear co-graduates, thank you for all the good friendship. Always remember: we are a good news.”
